Boxer Ryan Garcia reportedly parted ways with trainer Joe Goossen after his knockout loss to Gervonta Davis last month.

Goossen had been Garcia's trainer for his previous three fights, wins against Emmanuel Tagoe and Javier Fortuna and the loss to Davis, which was one of the biggest prize fights on the 2023 calendar. The fight was Garcia's first pay-per-view bout and drew a jaw-dropping 1.2 million buys.

While it was clear Davis was the superior fighter, Garcia is just 24 years old and has set his sights on building a resume at 140 pounds.

"It is what it is, but we're going to come back," Henry Garcia, Ryan's father, told Little Giant Boxing. "The only way Ryan would do something like that (rematch Davis) is if Ryan moved up to 140 and rehydrated to, you know, a normal weight," Garcia continued. "That's the only way. But right now, we did what we could. He gave the whole world a great fight. They loved it. But we're gonna move on and we're just gonna prevail."
