Bandai promotes recycling; Tomy redesigns products
TOKYO -- Japanese toymaker Bandai will start recycling the shells of its capsule toys and use the plastic for new shells at its factory in the Philippines as rival Tomy seeks to put its vending machine toys in smaller capsules to save on plastic. Gudetama Toys
Bandai and Tomy are part of a trend in which companies are recycling products made from petroleum-based materials, reflecting an increased awareness of sustainable development goals (SDGs) as well as soaring material prices and tighter emissions regulations at home and abroad.
